Climbing
The Peak District is paradise for climbers. World-renowned Stanage Edge and The
Roaches provide short severe climbing venues. Limestone buffs create a contrasting
challenge and bouldering continues to grow in popularity at many rugged moor
land sites.
Biking Old pack horse routes, bridle ways and forest tracks are abundant in the Peak District. Our hills and mountain are accessible and exciting. Famous routes taking in Jacob's Ladder and Cave Dale provide a thrill for most riders.
Walking This is prime walking country. Tracks through spectacular scenery are a hallmark of the Peaks and Dales. The Pennine Way begins just over the hill in Edale and the 80km Limestone Way starts in Castleton.
Events The surrounding area acts as a venue for many sporting events and challenges throughout the year. For details please contact tourist information centres at Castleton and Buxton.
